Smoked Shotgun Shells
Load up, fire up, and get ready for a taste adventure that's as explosive as it is delicious.
Ingredients
275g ground beef or sausage meat
150g grated cheddar cheese
Your favourite BBQ seasoning rub
6 Cannelloni shells, uncooked
12 slices bacon
Barbecue sauce
Method
Mix ground beef, cheese, and some barbecue rub in a bowl.
Stuff uncooked Cannelloni shells with the mixture.
Wrap each shell in 2 bacon slices and sprinkle with remaining rub.
Refrigerate for 4-6 hours or overnight for best results
Preheat the smoker to 120°C.
Place shells on a rack in the smoker for 1½ hours.
Increase temperature to 180°C and generously brush BBQ sauce on each shell
Cook for another 10 minutes, brush with barbecue sauce, and cook for an additional 10 minutes.
